The new Kayak recently purchased through the fundraising efforts of the
'Friends' has taken to the water.
The double kayak was purchased specifically to help youngsters with
disabilities to go kayaking with the rest of the group.
The boat is very stable and easy to paddle which means a wide range of
people are able to use it. The managers at Derwent Hill have also spent
some time working out how to best use the boat and integrate it into the
fleet.
It has already proven to be a great piece of equipment that has enhanced
the watersports experience for those young people who have used it and
the staff look forward to some better weather in the spring so that we
can start using it again.
